"We've been in this community for years now. This (new facility) gives us a
better physical presence, letting people know that we're here to stay," said
Hospice of Hope Director of Development and Public Relations Michael Parker. "We
built a multi-million dollar facility to put in our community that's able to
withstand the growth.
"We're going to grow."
Members of the Mt. Orab community took the time to express their opinions
regarding the medical services Hospice of Hope-Ohio Valley continues to provide
for the residents of Brown County.
"Everybody that I've ever heard (speak of Hospice of Hope services) had good
things to say," said Mt. Orab resident Beverly Eyre.
There were 115 people who attended the Oct. 11 facility dedication ceremony in
support of Hospice of Hope efforts to provide services to Brown County.
Hospice Executive Director Kavin Cartmell addressed attendees regarding the
project.
"It really is truly an exciting event today to dedicate our new home in Mt.
Orab. A project like this takes many hands and many hearts," said Cartmell. "We
were able to obtain a beautiful building that's very functional."
Cartmell also gave credit to the Village of Mt. Orab, including Mt. Orab Mayor
Bruce Lunsford, for providing assistance with the search for land to construct
the new facility.
Chaplain David Wirth led the group in prayer.
State Senator Tom Niehaus, on behalf of the Senate and Senate president Bill
Harris, awarded Hospice of Hope-Ohio Valley with a letter of recognition.
"Recognition of this special event is a fitting tribute to Hospice of Hope, for
it has achieved a remarkable record of service in the area," said Niehaus.
With Mayor Bruce Lunsford unable to attend, Ray Becraft was asked to speak on
behalf of the Brown County Chamber of Commerce.
"Forget the building and forget the location, but just look at the services that
you (Hospice of Hope) are providing for the community. That's what is exciting,"
said Becraft. "From a Chamber (of Commerce) perspective, we're certainly proud."
