Trompe
l'oeil Donor Recognition Library
At
Hospice of Hope, we believe everyone's life is truly a work of art! Books have been the tools of record for some of the greatest discoveries
and teachings in the history of the world. The trompe l'oeil
donor mural, a one-of-a-kind piece of art, is a painting that
creates such a strong illusion of reality that viewers initially may
think it is real. (Trompe l'oeil is French for "fool the
eye." The mural looks like a real bookshelf.) This mural covers one
wall of the foyer of our new administration building and is filled with
books of different sizes bearing the names of donors and/or loved ones.
We believe the result adds a blend
of warmth and charm as you enter the home of Hospice of Hope. Book sizes
are determined according to gift levels. In addition, the top two levels
of giving will entitle the donor to have a named room in the Hospice
of Hope building.
Your contribution will allow us
to continue to fulfill our mission and at the same time recognize your
loved one through a novel work of art that will remain for generations
to come.

Memorial
Giving
Your gift, in memory of a loved one, makes it possible for Hospice
of Hope to offer its compassionate care to any and all in our community
who seek quality of life during the course of their incurable illness.
A Memorial Gift is an excellent
way to affirm the truth that the one who has died lives on nevertheless
in the memory of his or her family. Hospice of Hope publishes a list
each year of those remembered by means of a special Memorial Gift. If
you are not a family member of the person you honor with your Memorial
Gift, Hospice of Hope will notify the family that your gift was received.
Memorial Gifts are appropriate
at any time: at the time of a friend or loved one's death; on the occasion
of a special anniversary; in gratitude for your memories and relationship
to the one you honor.
When you send your Memorial
gift to:
Hospice of Hope
909 Kenton Station Drive
Maysville, KY 41056
...please be sure to include the name(s) and address(es) of the donor(s);
the name of the person remembered; and the name and address of the next
of kin you would like us to notify of your gift.

Planned
Giving
A planned gift is a contribution that is arranged
during the giver's lifetime, but may actually not be received by Hospice
of Hope until after the donor's death. A planned gift can be made through
a will, a life insurance policy or trust; and can be made in the form
of cash, real estate, stocks or other resources. Planned giving lets
the donor make a major contribution to Hospice of Hope without sacrificing
spendable income.
Bequests
Many people choose to designate
Hospice of Hope in their will. Gifts made through wills is an option
that is easy to arrange and may be changed at your discretion. If you
wish to make a bequest to Hospice of Hope, you can do so by designating
a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. A charitable
gift to Hospice of Hope through a will is deductible for estate tax
purposes.
Life Insurance
Gifts of life insurance
can be made several ways. You can assign your annual dividends to Hospice
of Hope; donate a paid-up policy you already own by changing the owner
and beneficiary to Hospice of Hope; or you can donate a policy on which
you are still paying premiums. Various charitable tax deductions may
apply to gifts of life insurance.
Annuity
When you make a donation
in the form of a gift annuity, it not only benefits Hospice of Hope,
but also benefits you!
With
a gift annuity, you can lock in high rates of income and significant
tax savings. And the rate of return gets better the older you are at
the time you purchase the annuity. A substantial portion of your annual
annuity income may be tax free. As a result, you will be able to write
off a significant percentage of your annuity contribution as a charitable
donation.
You
are assured income that will continue to earn as long as you live, and
at the rate at which you initially signed on.
Charitable
Remainder Trust
The Charitable Remainder
Trust (CRT) is one of the most efficient estate planning tools available
to anyone holding assets that have experienced significant appreciation
like stocks, real estate, a business, etc. A trust is a special type
of "holding" for assets. Basically, you assign a certain amount of your
assets to the charitable trust; the trust "holds" them and pays out
the income from those assets. Charitable trusts enable you to make sizable
contributions to Hospice of Hope while receiving significant tax deductions
and other tax benefits.
For questions about planned giving and
to determine which option is best for you, please consult your financial
planner, legal counsel or tax accountant.
